In short: Store Manager and Staff roles allow you to grant access to managers without revealing data from other locations or financial information.
With the introduction of Store Manager and Staff roles, BoostWiFi answers a concrete question from those managing multiple locations: "Can I give my managers access without them seeing the data from other locations or sensitive financial information?"
The two roles, explained simply
- Store Manager — manages a specific assigned location: menus, reviews, table QR codes, and orders. They cannot see other locations in the group, even if they are part of the same chain.
- Staff — even more restricted access, designed for waiters or cashiers: only active orders and incoming requests for their specific location, with no visibility into settings, statistics, or financial data.
Why this matters for a chain or franchise
Before this feature, those managing multiple locations had to choose between two inconvenient options: sharing their master credentials with every location manager (risky, no data separation), or handling everything personally without delegating (not scalable beyond 2-3 locations). Now, every location manager has their own access, restricted to what they actually need.
A practical example
The owner of a 4-restaurant chain assigns a Store Manager to each location. Each manages their own restaurant autonomously—updating the menu, replying to reviews, checking orders—without seeing how the other 3 locations are performing or accessing the group's billing data, which remains visible only to the owner.

What this feature doesn't do (for transparency)
There is currently no automatic comparative report that measures the performance of multiple locations against each other—each Store Manager only sees their own, and the owner must still check each location individually to compare them. This is an area we may develop in the future, but we prefer to be clear about what exists today rather than promising reports that aren't available yet.
