Negative reviews cannot be deleted, they can only be prevented
No venue, however excellent, can completely eliminate negative reviews—but most stem from issues that could have been resolved before the customer left: long waits without communication, ordering errors, or a table not being ready. Intercepting dissatisfaction while the customer is still seated is always cheaper than managing it later, online, in front of everyone.
The private channel before the public one
Offering dissatisfied customers a simple and immediate way to report a problem privately—before they think of Google—radically changes the outcome. A customer who receives immediate attention rarely feels the need to vent publicly; a customer who is ignored almost always does.
What to do when a negative review arrives anyway
Always respond, within a few hours if possible, without ever being defensive or sarcastic: acknowledge the problem, offer a concrete (not generic) solution, and, if appropriate, invite them to contact you directly. A well-written response to a negative review is read by many more users than the review itself and can turn a negative episode into proof of a venue's professionalism.

When it is possible to ask Google for removal
Google removes reviews only in specific cases: offensive content, clear conflicts of interest, spam, or blatantly fake reviews from people who were never customers. It is not enough for the review to be 'unfair' from the manager's point of view—it must be reported via the Google Business Profile panel, precisely justifying the violation.
A direct channel alongside the review: Real Time Feedback
Many negative reviews occur because the customer, while still at the table, doesn't know who to tell that something is wrong. Offering everyone, next to the Google review link, a direct channel to the manager (Real Time Feedback with the Manager) allows you to receive the message in real-time and fix it immediately. No one is excluded or directed based on their rating: every customer remains free to leave a review on Google.
A practical example of a well-written response
An effective response follows a simple structure: thank them for the feedback, acknowledge the specific problem mentioned (not a generic excuse), briefly explain what was done or will be done to prevent it, and close with an open invitation to return. Phrases like 'we are sorry for the wait last night, we have adjusted our kitchen shifts for the weekend' communicate much more than a generic 'we are sorry for what happened'.
How much does an isolated negative review really matter?
A single negative review among dozens of recent positive ones has a very limited impact on overall perception: customers who read reviews tend to evaluate the general pattern, not the individual episode—one more reason to focus on the overall volume of reviews collected, not just on managing negative cases.
